The number of COVID cases in Indonesia is significantly high, especially in Jakarta, now in PPKM level 3 from March 1-7. In other regions of Indonesia, PPKM from level 1 to 3 are conducted depending on the number of cases and deaths in that certain region.

On the 6th of March, the total of active cases in Indonesia came to a whopping total of 445,110,441 cases and 149,918 deaths which is considered a lot. Due to many deaths, Indonesia's death rate still tends to be high compared to other countries. The government stated that most of the citizens who had passed were not fully vaccinated and had other illnesses.

Indonesia is still trying to live normally by opening offices and schools for people to attend in real life. Aside from this, the days of quarantine for foreigners or overseas travellers have been reduced to 3 days for people who have been fully vaccinated and have received a booster.

Starting from the 14th of March 2022, Bali will conduct a trial to avoid quarantine for overseas tourists or foreigners due to improving COVID-19 data in Bali. If it goes smoothly, the government will extend the no-quarantine policy throughout Indonesia.

The cases in Indonesia keep fluctuating, and on some days, the number of cases will be higher than the others. The Indonesian government still wants the 5M to be applied, such as wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining a safe distance, staying away from crowded places to reduce the amount of going out to ensure safety for all citizens.
