Pfizer has just announced a new pill that supposedly decreases the rate of getting covid-19 symptoms and death due to the virus by 89%. The medicine under the brand name Paxlovid is created to block the enzymes that make the virus keep replicating and multiplying.

Pfizer has done a test trial by giving the pills to patients with covid-19 symptoms and were treated for three days. Patients who received the drug did not die, and only 1% ended up in the hospital.

Pfizer plans to ask the FDA and international regulators soon to permit the new pill quickly due to its strong results. The FDA can take more than multiple weeks to make its choice to accept the medicine.

Pfizer expects to provide pills for about 180,000 people by the end of 2021 and approximately 50 million people next year.

Pfizer has not given any details on the side effects and possible symptoms people might get from taking the pill, but some potential side effects from taking the drug are nausea and diarrhoea.

Pfizer claims that the prices for the pills would be affordable for everyone and countries in the world. Pfizer would price the drug sold in Countries with lower income less than those with higher income. To ensure that most people can have access to the pill.
